Following an open call for proposals, ŻfinMalta selected seven artists for Phase One of this project. This November, each of these artists spends one week in residence with the company, researching their ideas with the dancers, and with the support of the Artistic and Production teams. Now, we welcome you to our studios for ENCOUNTERS, to witness the results of these residencies. Next season, up to three of the selected artists will be invited to further develop their research andcreate new works with ŻfinMalta for a production in autumn 2027. “For ŻfinMalta to be contemporary means to be engaged with now. We are not fixed to one form of movement, but a contemporary approach to dance that challenges fixed ideas about the body in movement. I am thrilled to be supporting the selected artists, their ideas, and their approach to dance and dance making.
